A Certain Uncertainty
At a time in my life when everything was uprooted, there stood this majestic tree at the end of the street, so large you could not take it all in standing under it. Only in winter was it stripped bare enough to see its form.
It had been there longer than any lifetime, through the worst of weather, and will still be there after I am gone. It was a symbol of clarity and tenacity in a misty and boggy landscape.
